Gum Recession

Our gingiva, or gums, are a very important part of our mouths. They help ensure that our teeth stay in their proper places. However, when the mouth becomes infected with periodontal disease, or gum disease, serious changes can occur that reduce the bond between our teeth and gums, preventing gums from doing their job. Gum recession is one of these possible changes.

This video from ToothIQ does an excellent job of explaining gingival recession.

If you have periodontal disease and need treatment, or if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact our office.

Take care of your smile!
